Because I have nothing else to do.

BPAL catch-up foo. Picked up a bunch since the last time I did this.
Bewitched - Blackberry, sage, green tea, wild berries and dark musk. I was hoping this would be a fresh berry kind of scent, but the sage and musk send it off and make it kind of dusty and not very me.
Black Dahlia - Magnolia, orchid, star jasmine, black amber and rose. I want to like jasmine scents so badly, but they just don't like me back. Black Dahlia starts out promising, all creamy, heavy flowers, lush and secretive if you can use those words to describe a scent... and then the jasmine kicks in and goes acrid commercial perfume-y. Sigh.
Blood Kiss - Vanilla and honey, clove, cherries, vetiver, poppy, red wine, and musk. A winey-spicy sort of scent, what with the cherries and clove and wine. A little too spicy for my preference. I think I'd like it better if the vanilla and honey carried more weight than the clove and vetiver.
Juke Joint - Kentucky Bourbon, sugar and a sprig of mint. Hahaha booze. This makes me smell like I've been drinking, or hanging around in a bar, which, no.
Mata Hari - Five roses with jasmine, vanilla, fig, tonka bean and mahogany, with a drop of coffee bean. I should've known better, really. Rose isn't my style, and jasmine just doesn't like me. I was hoping the other notes would save it, but they weren't really perceptible enough to help.
Rage - Black amber erupting with a dark volcanic surge of fiery dragon's blood and a burst of melati, rose geranium, mandarin and black currant. Frimp thrown into one of my eBay orders; I can only assume the seller was having trouble unloading it. Despite the description, it's a surprisingly clean, crisp sort of gender-neutral scent, and really not heavy at all. Spicy, but it's spicy-clean and puts me vaguely in mind of clean, dry stone, or clean leather. Not sure why. It's probably the dragon's blood, which had a similar effect in Dragon's Hide. Don't guess I'll keep it, but it's neat.
Sea of Glass - A scent of inimitable purity, crystalline grace, and limitless light. In the bottle, a lovely crystal-clear scent, sweet without being cloying, fresh without being sharp. On me? Air freshener. I love fresh scents, but BPAL's aquatics don't work with my skin very well for some reason.
Shanghai - Green tea with lemon verbena and honeysuckle. Speaking of fresh scents - much better. This one is similar to Emblaming Fluid in its clean, lemony freshness, but it has a little less of Embalming Fluid's faintly exotic citrus tartness and more of the floral sweetness. I like.
Tamora - Amber, heliotrope, golden sandalwood, peach blossom and vanilla bean. Smells like: peach syrup, warm, fruity, golden and sticky-sweet. After a while, the vanilla and amber and sandalwood come out and it warms and quiets into a really lovely scent. A bit crawl-up-my-nose sweet at the start, though.
Tempest - A crisp ozone-tinged breeze. The scent of the first gentle rain before the storm. I'm still striking out with the aquatics. Much like Lightning, this one smells better in the bottle but goes kind of weedy on my skin.
Thalia - Plumeria, pear and white champagne. Not at all bad. It's similar to Tamora in its sweetness, but not nearly so heavily sticky-sweet; the champagne and floral dry the scent out some and make it more crisp, which is good.
Xiuhtecuhtli - Copal, plumeria and sweet orange and the smoke of South American incense and crushed jungle blooms. Yum. This one is nice - the orange and the florals and the spices strike a nice balance, exotic without being too spicy or incensy. It does have spice, and incense, but the other notes keep it sweet and smooth and lucious.
