shipping meme, days 26 and 27: ffviii, weiss kreuz, avatar

I'm being really lazy on these because my examples only just barely fit - neither of these is something I do very much of. Not even bothering with cut-text, that's how lazy I'm being.

Day 26 - A pairing that you hated and ended up loving?

Believe it or not, I actually really didn't like Squall/Rinoa the first time I played Final Fantasy VIII. This is partly because it's not the best-developed pairing out there, partly because some of the most brilliant bits of characterization are buried in subtext and take some reading between the lines, and partly because I was like eighteen and pretty dumb. What can I say. On replay, though, as I actually started reading into the text a bit more, I warmed up to the characters and the pairing quite a bit.

There's also Aya and Asami-sensei in Weiss Kreuz Gluhen; on first watching I was worried they were going to send Aya spiraling wildly out of character, but they didn't, and on repeat viewing I think the characters are really cute together. But I don't actively ship them because shipping in Weiss Kreuz is a lost cause.

Day 27 - A pairing that you loved and ended up hating?

This is the closest I can get to an example for this one: for about half a minute when I saw the first season finale of Avatar, I kind of thought Zuko and Katara could be an interesting pairing (although Aang/Katara was obviously being set up at the canon ship). This never panned out into anything, and while I don't hate the pairing, I no longer see any potential in it.

The questions. )

oh koyasu

I did not think it could get much more crackbrained than Weiss Kreuz.

Then I found out about Velvet Under World. AND REALIZED HOW WRONG I WAS.

This usericon has never been more appropriate.

Random Acts of Fandom (and one or two semi-original ideas)

It is probably the result of hitting springtime again that I feel suddenly inspired to write more. (Well, that and scening on TIG woke up my SEEDfic muse, which is a little awkward since I think the moment has kind of passed for everyone else, but whatever.) Suddenly I have... ideas again! Holy shit.

Well, okay, a lot of these ideas I have had for quite a while and just not done much with them.

But anyway. With the signs of my inspiration renewing itself, it's about the time of year for me to organize a list of Fic Ideas I Plan To Write, in the hopes of actually getting around to some of them this time.

Cut for spam. )

PI Log: Another Fine Mess

Too funny not to post. Seravina comes in to check out Ogori's, and Aya ends up getting royally pwned by three well-meaning women. Look for Aya being very, very tempted to pretend he doesn't understand English, and Seravina's conclusions on the subject of male florists.

Poor, poor Aya. )

For [livejournal.com profile] annwyd, some angsty pretentious lyrics to play with, if you so desire.

Blue Mask.
God Hurts Those I Love
No Reason
Stone Roses
Tiny Little Song
Tonight

And I can't see straight now, so I'm going to bed.

Fandom Meme, ganked from [livejournal.com profile] indigoskynet

For each of your fandoms, name:
1. A character you absolutely worship
2. A character you like
3. A character you could give or take
4. A character you don't really care for
5. A character you'd like to spork

My fandoms, cut for spam. )

Still very entertained by this mood icon.

[livejournal.com profile] atrocity!

I am mailing your next fix of Weiss Kreuz tomorrow. The rest of the first series, plus the first episode of Gluhen.

I'd send you the whole thing, but there's still some space on the last tape, and I'm debating filling it with an episode or so of Inuyasha, but I'm not sure if that would be a palate-cleanser or a slap to the face, after the ending of Gluhen.

Anyhow, getting episode 1 first means you get the chance to brace yourself for the rest of it.

It won't help, but you'll get the chance.

Am I thoughtful or what?

Have also ordered the OVA. I'll let you know how it is.

...Lawsy, but it's been a while since I posted anything of substance. More content soon, honest.
