In other news, I turn 29 today.
I am not sure what I think about this, but since I'm feeling sorry for myself at the moment I will shamelessly inform my friendslist that, if anyone would like to give me a present, I would welcome any fanfics, fanart, and/or custom LJ icons anyone might be inspired to do. (I'm pretty sure you all know my preferred fandoms and characters and pairings, but I can be polled for specifics if need be.)
This is a bit lame of me since I'm so bad about filling requests myself, but if I can't be lame on my birthday, when can I?

May. 27th, 2009 06:40 pmHave gone back and updated my grand list of stuff I want to write.
Current goal is still to finish that Gundam SEED request fic I posted about a couple of days ago, and then hopefully "Fortune Favors the Brave," though my attention span hasn't entirely been cooperating lately.
In unrelated news, I am heading to A-Konon Friday tomorrow. SURPRISE. I'll be taking my laptop and should have internet access while I'm there, so my friendslist will probably not notice the difference, but, you know. FYI.

I have... about an hour and half to post to
ship_manifesto.
If anyone would like to provide any last-minute Mwu/Murrue fanwork recs for me to ad...
(since I can't find any of the good fanart sites any more)
...yes please?

Random acts of Fandom: POLL
Jun. 20th, 2006 07:46 pmSo, I have this webspace. I haven't used it for anything yet aside from stashing image files and pimping mp3s to people.
I kind of want to put an actual site in there. But then the question becomes, what goes in it?
[Poll #752523]
Also, found when perusing FF.net:
Gundam Seed: Freedom's Echo by Patriot-of-USA
...wait, what?

In the War on Terror, NSA Agent Alex Kennedy leads a USA Special Forces squad against Al Qaeda. However, ZAFT and the United Nations intend to stop him. Even worse, he finds that one of his enemies is his brother: Athrun!
...wait, what?

Dec. 21st, 2004 05:43 pmChristmas boxes mailed to
kevasangel74,
infinitepryde,
tisiphonemoon,
thenowhere, and
erispope. Kitchen coup looking slightly less likely. I still have quite a lot of cookies left, though.
Mood rather improved, despite having to be unbearably cheerful on the phone all day.
Still terribly entertained by my moodset.

Nov. 18th, 2004 11:39 pmLargely inspired by
annwyd's post of a very cool mp3...
I'm on the hunt for some new music, and fishing for recommendations. Particularly I'm on the lookout for lullaby-style songs. Anyone have any favorites they'd like to point me at? C'mon, you know you do. Share.
My personal contribution, to get things started, is Takehito Koyasu's "Tiny Little Song." Because.

I am mailing your next fix of Weiss Kreuz tomorrow. The rest of the first series, plus the first episode of Gluhen.
I'd send you the whole thing, but there's still some space on the last tape, and I'm debating filling it with an episode or so of Inuyasha, but I'm not sure if that would be a palate-cleanser or a slap to the face, after the ending of Gluhen.
Anyhow, getting episode 1 first means you get the chance to brace yourself for the rest of it.
It won't help, but you'll get the chance.
Am I thoughtful or what?
Have also ordered the OVA. I'll let you know how it is.
...Lawsy, but it's been a while since I posted anything of substance. More content soon, honest.

Sep. 24th, 2003 11:50 pmHanging out with my brother, watching X-Men. The past few days have been pretty relaxed. Good stuff.
I got to go to McGuire's again - sort of an ersatz Irish pub with various things to recommend it, including some fairly authentic food, live performers, and the fact that they do their own brewing. The first time I was there, we got a table near the stage and got to watch a guy who looked a lot like Sean Bean sing Irish ballads and the occasional James Taylor song, plus Shel Silverstein's poem about Noah and the unicorns. This time I got to try the root beer, which like the actual beer is brewed right there, and served in the same mugs they serve the beer in. Excellent. The shepherd's pie is good too, and they serve about three meals' worth in one order.
Yesterday we went to the beach. Gorgeous beaches around here. Sparkly white sand and water clear as glass, pale green in the shallows and aquamarine farther out. Waist-deep in it, I could see the little fish swiming around my ankles. I also saw what I suspect was a small shark, a number of yards away. Kinda cool, a little freaky.
We've also been watching a lot of DVDs. I showed my brother the complete run of Cowboy Bebop, and he dug it. I'm proud. We also went through the first season of CSI and several discs of Futurama.
Have not really done much with the job hunting yet, but I've got another week and a half, so I'm being pretty laid-back about it.
Still no way to charge up my cell phone, but I check my email at least once a day. Mail is welcome! I'm feeling kinda out of touch, despite being able to log on fairly regularly.
More later, maybe.

Sep. 19th, 2003 09:56 amMost of the people reading this already know, but for those who didn't - I'm off to Florida again. This time for two weeks. I'll be staying with my brother, doing some job hunting and whatnot. I may have internet access, in which case I'll post again while I'm there, but I'm not sure what sort of internet service my brother has, if any. So I might be around, or I might be pretty much incommunicado.
For anyone who was thinking of calling me - there's a problem putting minutes on the phone, so I may or may not be able to get that done. More news on that later, I hope.
Anyhow, everyone be good while I'm gone.
And if you can't be good, be careful.

Spreading the Word
Aug. 11th, 2003 10:06 pmIf anyone else has been having the XP problem that
hopperuk and I have been having, she helpfully uncovered the cause, and the fix for it.
It's a worm, details here, that's been causing an error sufficiently nasty to inspire XP to spontaneously reboot. Especially obnoxious because it pops up an error message telling you that the Remote Procedure Call failed and it's restarting in 60 seconds, leaving you to watch helplessly as it counts down and then shuts down. And it does it over. And over. And over.
You can fix it via the above link or by downloading from this page. Just be sure to then get the appropriate Windows security patch so that it won't come back.
And all hail
hopperuk for finding this out.
