I cannot quite decide if it is too bad or just as well that PI is basically defunct. Because...

I'm kind of wanting to play Terry McGinnis somewhere.

...Yeah, definitely just as well. Somebody shoot me before I start trying to come up with a workaround.

You know, I have no clue who that is, but it's only a matter of a couple weeks before we reopen CR.

Terry McGinnis is the Batman of the future, as per the Batman Beyond animated series. I am... not sure how well he'd do in the Rose.

(...wonder how long he could keep his suit functioning in a steampunk environment.)

There are allowances made for certain amounts of high tech when it's integral to the character. (I should write this up for a newsfile.) The more personal stuff, like a Batsuit, could go a couple different ways--either it's blessed so that it will keep functioning, or it magically has its workings replaced with steampunk stuff that accomplishes the same purposes.

I remain in perpetual hope and mourning for [livejournal.com profile] nexuscity. :(

I swear that place had the most brilliant concept I've seen in years.

I have been sucked entirely into LJ RP. Because it has pictures. And it allows me to play around in a fully fleshed out Marvel and DC universe with far fewer buttholes than one tended to find in such games on MUXes.

There are a few Nexus-style LJ RP joints - [livejournal.com profile] ahumblepen has been on one of 'em here and there, as has [livejournal.com profile] evilbeej - that would allow you to play McGinnis, although it's much less structured and not quite as plotty (although it could eventually be at Dear Multiverse (http://community.livejournal.com/dear_multiverse/), where lots of random characters occasionally get involved in their own plottery derived from simple conversations, etc. There may already be a McGinnis there, but alternate versions are allowed in places like that.

I'm all over the place at Marvel Mansion (http://community.livejournal.com/marvel_mansion/) and JLA Watchtower (http://community.livejournal.com/jla_watchtower/).

Or perhaps I should just shoot you. ;)

... I am utterly baffled as to where you find LJ RP with fewer idiots; I fled screaming back to MU*dom. ;D

Hee. Yes, I have found many LJ idiots, hence the latest post in the [livejournal.com profile] wadewilson LJ ;). But the DC and Marvel games I'm on are generally pretty cool and friendly, and operate on personal references, for the most part, and they have nightly chatrooms on AIM to serve as the OOC room. You get your occaisonal little attitudinal kerfluffles, but they're usually not anything nasty or unsolvable.

Also, the rules aren't particularly strict, and there's a lot of flexibility with the moderators.

The free-form Nexus style games tend to get more of the idiots, true.

Yyyeeeeeah, I tried it out a while back, but had to hide in fear from the Sages of Chaos loons, and couldn't ever quite glom my brain onto the more structured Marvelverse LJ RP of [livejournal.com profile] ahumblepen's that I tried.

Yes. Sages has a high-loon quotient. Dear Multiverse is a bit better in that regard, but not immune.

I'm not sure where [livejournal.com profile] ahumblepen is currently playing, although I have X-Movie-ish in my brain.

The games I'm on are much closer to regular comic canon, although obviously altered by RP and such-like.
