Today was a pretty good TV day.
LSH cartoon:
Okay, so I've only seen the first few minutes so far. Brainiac 5 writes self-insert slashfic. Seriously, Brainy's crush on Superman is pretty much canon now. Manly emo tears and all! Bwah.
Heroes s2 premiere:
Matt and Mohinder have set up housekeeping and adopted Molly. This is too adorable for words, folks. I APPROVE. Also, Mohinder still working with Mr. Bennet is completely made of win. I was all set to be disappointed with him for getting sucked in yet again by someone who - despite having Element Lad's powerset - is patently evil, but if Mr. Bennet is spymastering for him? Score! Memo to TPTB: please continue to allow Matt and Mohinder to be smart this season.
Speaking of Mr. Bennet: yeah, way to not stand out, there. Luckily for him he's too badass for me to care, and besides, if all the Bennets continued to not stand out their lives would be as painfully boring as that dinner table conversation, and we can't have that.
Nathan lives! And is emo, which aside from the hobo beard he really wears remarkably well. Oh, honey, you need to shave. I hope that he and Claire continue to maintain contact; there's still a lot of fertile ground there.
Time will tell as to whether what's his name from Claire's school is going to be Cute Boyfriend Guy or Creepy Stalker Guy, but so far I'm guessing it's Door Number Two, what with, you know, the hovering outside her window in the middle of the night. Too bad, because he is kind of cute, despite the nonconformist self-righteousness of his whole Robots Vs. Aliens thing.
Journeyman series premiere:
I had heard absolutely nothing about this, but since it came on right after Heroes and looked interesting I gave it a shot. For most of it I was pretty well intrigued... the concept owes an awful lot to Quantum Leap, but since I'm fond of Quantum Leap that's not necessarily a negative, and the take on it is new enough to not feel like a retread. The episode as a whole left me interested enough to keep watching... and the last few minutes pwned me pretty hard by demonstrating how smart and resourceful a main character Dan is going to be. His stunt with the ring was simple, but smart, and I dug it a lot. I'm definitely curious to see where it goes.
