Yesterday BioWare released the first one-minute teaser for Mass Effect 2.

The fanbase is already going insane. It's kind of fun to watch.

Oh, people are jumping to all sorts of crazy conclusions. "They killed Shepard! Those bastards!" is only the beginning; there are also a lot of people (including the copywriters at IGN, apparently) who seem to think that what we're seeing is a geth with an N7 logo on it instead of, as I believe, a geth seen behind some N7 wreckage... leading to a really surprisingly popular assumption that Shepard is going to be converted into a geth. Plus a lot of more standard "She's just hiding (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/Ptitleqqsng6mmurdg)" and "Mass Effect is ruined FOREVER (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/RuinedFOREVER)!"

It's hilarious.
