Jul. 29th, 2003 07:30 pmSo I got an email from the folks at the Island Packet. Pretty much a "thanks very much, please drive through;" I'm guessing they're wanting someone with more experience. Or something.
Anyhow, so much for that idea.
The good news is that this means I have an excuse to push my familial visit back a bit more, rather than going this weekend. Less pressure.
So, back to the drawing board.

Date: 2003-07-30 07:39 am (UTC)I never understood how everyone wanted experience, but how are you supposed to -get- any, if they won't hire you?
Its sucky but just keep sending the resume out. Just get a foot in the door somewhere, even if its not doing exactly what you want to be doing at the start. Once you -have- been hired, its a HELL of a lot easier to start shuffling around. Harvard wouldn't even LOOK at me when I first graduated. I must've submitted my resume 10 times for different jobs and i never even got an -interview-. But after I was hired for the lawfirm, resubmitted to Harvard and they thought I was -overqualified- and hired me anyway!
So don't give up hope. I know its an awful waiting period but, you will break through.
