So I got an email from the folks at the Island Packet. Pretty much a "thanks very much, please drive through;" I'm guessing they're wanting someone with more experience. Or something.

Anyhow, so much for that idea.

The good news is that this means I have an excuse to push my familial visit back a bit more, rather than going this weekend. Less pressure.

So, back to the drawing board.

Pfah! The fools! Did they not GET my none-too-subtle hints about the direction that the Beard Satellites were pointed in, and how much of a shame it would be to find a smoking crater where Hilton Head used to be?

*hugs* Job-hunting sucks.

Well... at least you dont have to go and suck up to the yuppies.

If you want to live in nowhere Louisiana, I'm sure the clinic I work for is always looking for competent people.

When I first got out of college, it took me three months to find a job. And every single non-call back was more depressing than the letters I'd get that consisted of "Yes thank you for your interest but we've found someone ultimately better than you"

I never understood how everyone wanted experience, but how are you supposed to -get- any, if they won't hire you?

Its sucky but just keep sending the resume out. Just get a foot in the door somewhere, even if its not doing exactly what you want to be doing at the start. Once you -have- been hired, its a HELL of a lot easier to start shuffling around. Harvard wouldn't even LOOK at me when I first graduated. I must've submitted my resume 10 times for different jobs and i never even got an -interview-. But after I was hired for the lawfirm, resubmitted to Harvard and they thought I was -overqualified- and hired me anyway!

So don't give up hope. I know its an awful waiting period but, you will break through.
