Someone explain this one for me: Lightning and company can all jump like crickets, high enough to repeatedly whack an ENORMOUS MONSTER TURTLE THING upside the nose... but none of them can manage to actually jump up onto its head and stab it in the eyes until it's dead, instead of dancing around underneath its ENORMOUS FEET getting trampled into paste? Really?

Really?

Sigh. I'm not sure I'm going to get past the Adamanchelid. [livejournal.com profile] kasumi_blue's Army of One: Commando Edition trick helps a little with damage, but I just can't seem to time jumps to avoid getting stomped to death. I'm having to conclude, after struggling with most of the bosses from That One Guy in Chapter 9 onward, that I just kind of suck at this game. Which is sad because I enjoy the Paradigm Shift system, I am just... clearly not using it right. Somehow.

On an unrelated note, I really wish Rygdea had more scenes.

Those Adamanchelids are really annoying to deal with. I think you can avoid them if you really need to. To be honest, the first one I fought slaughtered my team repeatedly until I changed my Paradigm presets. You want to make sure you always have a healer since it does that stomping attack so much. I used Lightning, Fang, and Hope and used Medic-Saboteur-Synergist and then switched to Ravager-Commando-Medic to build up chains and then switched to Commando-Commando-Medic as soon as I used Army of One (and I only use that when an enemy is staggered to build up the stagger percentage and then switch to Ravager after I hit 999%). It's a bit slow, but it keeps everyone alive while they're attacking.

That's the best strategy I was able to come up with for them.

The one that's killing me is the one in Chapter 12, right after fighting the Proudclad... I don't think it's avoidable, although there is always the chance that I am doing something wrong.

I will try your method and see if it helps! I have been using, alternately, Lightning + Snow + Hope and Lightning + Fang + Vanille, and relying mostly on Ravager-Commando-Medic with switches to Medic-Sentinel-Medic for intensive healing. Which doesn't work so well when it keeps all three of them on the ground to be stomped to death, sadly.

If I could summon more than once per battle this would so not be an issue.

Update:

...so I took another shot at it using the setup you described.

Did not start well; I nearly lost both Fang and Hope just trying to get the buffs and debuffs up, and I did lose Hope almost immediately upon beginning actual attacks. So as sort of an 'ohshit' move I summoned Odin mostly for the free heals...

...Zantetsuken killed it.

2:04 total.
