Nothing in this episode really came as a surprise. Fandom's been predicting for a while that Jake wasn't actually the one who killed Barnaby's parents; Barnaby's memory going wonky makes me that much more convinced that the "relaxation chamber" introduced back in episode six has Certain Other Purposes and that Maverick is in fact up to no good.
I just hope this isn't a lead-up to "Barnaby is a robot." That would be lame. :|
Likewise, we all knew Kotetsu wasn't going to manage to quit and go right back home as he promised, but I was hoping he'd at least manage to voice his intention to quit before the shit hit the fan and forced him to stay. Instead, Bunny wouldn't let him get through the speech, and now he doesn't feel like he can say anything about it or his powers failing because Barnaby's already cracking up.
...which is also not really a surprise. I didn't figure Barnaby had honestly managed to get over all his issues during the time skip, whatever he claimed.
This is going to get ugly. :c
At least Kaede's misadventures in learning to control her superpowers were cute, and so was everyone in the world except Kotetsu having obviously figured out Karina's crush on him.

Date: 2011-07-31 03:58 am (UTC)Also, Kaede can copy powers of who she's touched. So, she had Kotetsu's abilities, then has Magnetism. Who...has Magnetism?
The whole Barnaby mystery has me intrigued. I know I floated the robot possibility, but...it doesn't seem right, especially since Barnaby has a NEXT aura with his powers. Cis didn't.
