Writer's Block: A Posthumous Oscar for Joker?

It definitely wouldn't be a subject for discussion if he hadn't died, and personally I thought the incessant lip-licking and mouth-smacking, although not inappropriate as the behavioral tics of a crazy person, were far too distracting, like fingernails on slate.

I guess it will depend on what other prospects there are, but I think the main reason the idea is being talked about so much is just because Ledger is dead. Which, while it's certainly a shame, is not a reason to give him an Oscar.
