Someone make me stop reading the Gundam SEED fanfic at fanfiction.net. It's not getting any better. This, honestly, kind of skeeves me just a little, enough that I would really like to say something, but there is no nice way to say "I don't even recognize this character, and by the way it's a little creepy that you seem to prefer him as a man-child rather than an adult."

Restraining urge to leave a review; arguing characterization in reviews is something I try to avoid. Perhaps I will complain about bad fanon in my own journal later instead. Just for fun.

I'd like to say it's really not that bad, but... at this point it kind of is. I've been entertaining notions of starting a SEED version of weiss_badfics.

But for the time being, now that I'm home from work, I will start a post complaining about bad fanon.

I truly wish I had better to recommend to you. SEED fandom is afflicted by a plague of mediocrity; any Mwu/Murrue recs I could make would involve some kind of caveat: "This one's okay except for the overly florid prose; this writer shows promise although she's kind of immature in style."

About the only rec I can make is this fic (http://www.fanfiction.net/s/2715363/1/), and even here your mileage may vary on whether or not Dearka is really this clever. It's a one-shot involving Dearka and Mwu on the Archangel late in the series, and Murrue isn't mentioned at all, but Mwu's characterization and mannerisms amuse me, so that's something.
