I have entirely too many. And I have some blank discs lying around. So, if anyone would like a data CD full of mp3s, take a look at this ginormous list and pick out, oh, anywhere from 15 to 150 tracks you'd like copies of. Put your list in a comment or email it to me. The ones I consider must-hears are in bold. Offer good while supplies of blank CDs last.

This Is Not A Meme. )

Swiped from [livejournal.com profile] infinitepryde; put your playlist on random and note the first ten or fifteen tracks it chooses.

Huh. )

...and 'cause it's a great song.

There's no one in town I know
You gave us some place to go
I never said thank you for that
I thought I might get one more chance
What would you think of me now?
So lucky, so strong, so proud
I never said thank you for that
Now I'll never have a chance

May angels lead you in
Hear you me, my friends
On sleepless roads the sleepless go
May angels lead you in

So what would you think of me now?
So lucky, so strong, so proud
I never said thank you for that
Now I'll never have a chance

May angels lead you in
Hear you me, my friends
On sleepless roads the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
May angels lead you in
May angels lead you in

And if you were with me tonight
I'd sing to you just one more time
A song for a heart so big
God wouldn't let it live

May angels lead you in
Hear you me, my friends
On sleepless roads the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
May angels lead you in
Hear you me, my friends
On sleepless roads the sleepless go
May angels lead you in
May angels lead you in

I've got slightly more than a week until I journey to the Land Of The Yuppies in hopes of long-term employment in the media industry.

See Abby. See Abby spaz. Spaz, Abby, spaz.

I've been sorting through my clothes, and now have a ginormous pile of laundry to do and a surprising number of pretty nice outfits. My grandmother took me out today and set me up with three more, including a hot hot omg so hot red sheath dress that I can definitely not wear to interviews, but the hotness of which can be subtly disguised by a blazer for actual work purposes. All of this assuming that a) I get the job and b) it does not permit me to continue my normal pattern of wearing jeans every day.

Gran also set me up with an appointment to get my hair cut, which is another item knocked off my list of "should do but probably can't actually afford." The list now consists solely of getting my car inspected and getting something done about my teeth. I'll probably call for an appointment for the latter sometime today, get a cleaning, and find out what else will need to be done in the future.

Adrienne at work told me today that they can't employ me past the 31st, which is fine because I'm planning to leave somewhere between the 1st and the 3rd anyhow. So that was really actually good news. The bad news is that I'm stuck working mornings until then. Blah.

So for the time being, I do laundry, watch impatiently for the mail and listen to the Most Determinedly Energetic J-Pop Ever. No, really.

For some reason, Inuyasha has the peppiest, most rarr rarr enthusiastic rarr rarr opening themes I have ever heard. These songs are the best things in the world for firing up some energy to get busy doing something. Cases in point: "Change The World" by V6, "Grip!" by Every Little Thing, and "Itazurana Kiss" by Day After Tomorrow. The ending themes are also pretty damn spiffy, being generally a little more mellow. Do As Infinity in particular has this unhurried but intense folk-rock thing going on in songs like "Fukai Mori" and "Shinjitsu no Uta," good stuff. Must also take a moment to plug Every Little Thing's ballad "Ai No Uta."

So many things that I want but have no money to spare for. Albums from the abovementioned bands included. Sulk.

Oh well. Once I am employed, books, CDs, and DVDs ahoy.

Tank's hysterical yapping at the window heralds the arrival of the mail, so off I go.

Idea flagrantly stolen from [livejournal.com profile] lyosha; here's some utterly random song lyrics, some probably pretty obvious, some hopefully kind of obscure. Blame it on insomnia or just a couple weird brains. I've been nice and (mostly) laid off the j-pop.

How many can you identify? )

Quiz stolen from [livejournal.com profile] wishdragon and various others:

1. You are attracted to those who are unbridled, untrammeled, and free.

2. In the process of courtship, the approach that would make you feel irresistable is straight-forward, just tell you he/she loves you.

3. The impression you would like to give to your lover is optimistic.

4. What you hate most in your partner is that the person is ruthless, cold-blooded, and/or ironic.

5. The kind of relationship you would like to build with your partner is that both of you can talk about everything and anything, no secret is kept.

6. You can never be stabilized; actually, you are not suitable for marriage and you don't want to make committment.

7. You think of marriage as a precious thing. Once you get married, you'll treasure it and your partner very much.

8. At this moment, you don't want to be tied down by a steady relationship, you just want to flirt around.

It's impressively accurate considering I chose 'Horse' every time I could just 'cause I like horses so much. The only one that's really off is #4; that actually kind of turns me on. Unless it's directed at me. In which cast, pfft.

In other news, everyone should buy a copy of Evanescence's CD 'Fallen.' It rocks. Unspeakably. I've been listening to it for two solid days. All [livejournal.com profile] thenowhere's fault.

Snf!

Must take a moment to swoon all over David Sylvian, especially the song "Darkest Dreaming":

Stay tonight
We'll watch the full moon rising
Hold on tight
The sky is breaking
I don't ever wanna be alone
With all my darkest dreaming
Hold me close
The sky is breaking

I don't ever wanna be alone
With all my darkest dreaming
Hold me close
The sky is breaking.

So pretty and sad. Partly because aside from the vocals there's not a lot to it, just some soft atmospheric tones. It's such a Squall song.

And I discovered it in an episode of CSI, which just reinforces my love for that show. Even if it was the episode in which Grissom let a dominatrix come between us. Snf.

Further pause to be amused at the LJ spellchecker, which does not recognize 'Grissom' and offers, as first possible replacement, 'Gruesome'. Hee.

Easily amused, I.
